This device is essential when the cable length of the cameras exceeds 50 meters. Over 50 meters the camera cannot transmit the video signal to the target device (monitor, DVR or other device). In fact it is a converter for transmitting the video signal of the wired cameras on a twisted cable up to a cable length of 400 meters. They are sold in pairs because one goes to one end of the cable and the other goes to the other end.
